Aubrey Choquette asked whether the proposed stone-cutting operation could meet the Town’s 60-decibel performance standard and explicitly urged that “a professional sound study should be completed before the application proceeds.”
Board members and staff noted that noise and dust controls are among the principal issues that must be addressed. Diane Nadon requested additional detail on the anticipated frequency of stone cutting and how “noise, dust, wastewater, and slurry generated during stone cutting would be managed,” and the Board asked for engineered mitigation strategies to be submitted with a revised application.
