Council adopts consent agenda including warrants, grant extension and ILA

The Langley City Council adopted the consent agenda at its Oct. 7 meeting by unanimous vote. Items approved included claim warrants in the amount of $93,975.21 and manual warrants totaling $91,106.46, as well as payroll direct deposits of $39,544.91 (Sept. 3) and $36,887.80 (Sept. 16).
The consent agenda also approved several administrative and intergovernmental items: a no-objection statement for liquor licenses for the Clyde Theater and Village Wine Shop; an extension to the Island County Rural Economic Development Funds grant; an interlocal agreement (ILA) with Island County for prosecuting attorney services; the transition of credit card administration to Finance Director Kelly Beech; appointment of Gillian Lewis to the Historic Preservation Commission; changing the public comment period to 15 minutes; and moving a commission discussion to a November special meeting/workshop. The motion to adopt the consent agenda was made by Councilmember Craig Cyr and seconded by Councilmember Gail Fleming; it passed unanimously.
