Fayston reports $455,816.43 in FEMA reimbursements, local rep available through September

At the July 22 meeting the Fayston Selectboard heard an update on FEMA reimbursements and project sign-offs. Town Clerk Madi Vasseur read an email from Sarah Stavraky reporting that the Town has received $455,816.43 in reimbursements to date from roughly $1.6 million submitted (new bridges excluded). The FEMA representative advised against breaking large projects into smaller ones because projects over $100,000 require additional sign-off, and the timeline for receiving funds on completed projects is uncertain.
Madi told the board that in past instances funds arrived about four weeks after sign-off, and that the Town's current FEMA representative will remain in her position until September, after which FEMA staffing will be regionalized and towns may not have the same individual contact. The board agreed to pursue site visits and other work while the local representative remains available.
