Board members and the recreation director discussed possible reasons for the drop — declining kindergarten enrollments and overlapping programs — and asked staff to clarify the program’s age range in the handbook (registration referenced both grades entering kindergarten through sixth grade and a numeric age range of 5–12). Knott said she will seek clarifications for insurance and staffing requirements and may adjust future programming and outreach; she also noted local sponsorships (for example, the American Legion has sponsored spaces for children) and encouraged families to contact staff for scholarship or sponsorship assistance.
