A planning commission representative updated the Select Board on a series of proposed zoning changes that the commission recently discussed in a public hearing.
"There were 3 different things. There's a regulation to add PUDs to commercial areas," the planning commission representative said, describing the changes and how they link to subdivision rules and designated downtown regulations under Section 929. The representative said the downtown area has "very, very little area... to develop" and the new rules are intended to offer step-by-step guidance to potential developers.
The board discussed notice requirements, the 15-day posting timeline for hearings, and the need for a separate public hearing on the historic district designation. The planning commission representative said the proposals were largely housekeeping to align local regulations with state standards and to clarify processes for major and minor subdivisions.
