The Ludlow City Council voted on July 9, 2026, to appoint Brian Bumgarner to fill the vacant council seat through the end of the year. City Attorney Michelle Eviston noted the council had the option to enter executive session to discuss the vacancy; council instead moved to appoint Bumgarner by motion of Steve Chapman with a second from Julie Terry Navarre, and the appointment passed by roll call vote: all ayes.
Council received six letters of intent for the vacancy. Bumgarner will serve through December 31, 2026, and assume council duties immediately; council did not record any abstentions or opposing votes in the minutes.
