Council approves disabled parking space at 434 Oak Street

Resident Dave Seibert told the council that his mother received a notice about a bush and a leaning wall at the rear of her property, and he said he corrected that issue; he also raised that his mother's request for a disabled parking space had been denied earlier because the property has off-street parking, but she cannot access the house from the rear due to steps. Mayor Sarah Thompson said the council would vote on the disabled parking space later in the meeting.

During the New Business item, council discussed the process for renewals of disabled parking spaces and the criteria for removing signs. Councilmember Julie Terry Navarre moved to approve the disabled parking space at 434 Oak Street; the motion was seconded by Councilmember Paula Graszus and carried by voice vote (all ayes). No appeal conditions or follow-up requirements were recorded in the minutes.
