Ludlow highlights Riverwalk Phase II, River Stage ramp and summer events

Public Works Director Shane Hamant updated the council on multiple downtown and park projects tied to the Riverwalk Phase II ribbon cutting held earlier that evening. Mr. Hamant said, “The ADA compliant ramp at the park should be completed by June 20, 2026,” and reported the new benches and trash cans will be installed the week of May 18 and the digital sign is expected the first week of June. He also said the new water line at Jackson Park should be installed by the first week of June.
Mayor Sarah Thompson said the Riverwalk Phase II ribbon cutting helps “continue reconnecting the community to the riverfront.” She noted the River Stage opening scheduled for May 16 may be moved to May 30 depending on weather and announced a Fireworks Festival on June 27 with music, food trucks and family activities. Council identified longer-term parking solutions and other operational needs for departments as part of ongoing planning.
