Ludlow approves 30-minute parking on Helen Street in 3–2 vote after procedural re-reading

Following the re-reading by City Attorney Zach Smith, council voted to adopt Ordinance 2026-8 (adding additional 30-minute limited parking spaces on Helen Street). The motion passed on a roll-call vote with three ayes (Steve Chapman, David Ziegler, Paula Graszus) and two nays (Meagan Guthrie, Julie Terry Navarre). Public discussion during the item included concerns about Reeves' Market blocking an alley for Mothers' Day and ideas to reconfigure Helen Street (one-way and diagonal parking) to increase spaces. Public Works Director Shane Hamant confirmed the curbs will be marked yellow and new parking signs will be installed.
