The board approved CIB funding and an award recommendation for lighting and electrical improvements at Dan Raven Plaza and agreed to waive temporary vendor fees for a new farmers market this season.
Staff asked the board to approve $135,353.32 in CIB funding and to award the Dan Raven Plaza lighting contract to Hawk Enterprises as the lowest responsive bidder. A staff member told the board the city “seeks to commence a, outdoor market, at the Dan Raven Plaza starting at the end of May,” and said the project will provide electrical service to vendors and improve lighting around the plaza. The board approved the award and funding allocation by voice vote.
Separately, Collective Events Incorporated asked the city to waive vendor license fees for the market’s first year. The market organizer (represented at the meeting) said the market will run Thursdays from May through October and requested fee relief to help the event get established. The board voted to waive temporary food vendor fees for the organizer’s first year and said it will revisit the fee waiver in 2027.
