"This allows the capture of the allocation, the increase in the AV, as a result, and gives the redevelopment commission the ability to establish programs," Westling said. The record shows prior input in the declaratory resolution from local advocates who supported infill housing in the Jacob Square area.
Next steps include staff work to define specific programs and any future ordinances or resolutions that would allocate funds or establish grant criteria. The commission's vote made the Jacob Square area eligible for future redevelopment programs but did not appropriate funds at the March 17 meeting.
