Knotweed program reports staffing changes, QAPP approval and ARPA balance
Summary

The commission recorded updates on invasive species management, primarily Japanese knotweed work. UVM interns resumed work on July 24 after a July 17 flood-related pause; Farmers Market outreach occurred July 27 and Aug. 3. Project coordinator Evan Horne’s last paid day was July 12; he will continue supporting the project as a volunteer. A new day-to-day coordinator, Evan Bak, and GIS coordinator, David Moroney, were named.
Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) comments were received and QAPP approval was recorded Aug. 20 (from Lauren Jenness Kneen, NEIWPCC Environmental Analyst). The minutes list the ARPA funds balance as of Aug. 28, 2024 at $1,295, with an expenditure deadline of Dec. 31, 2026. Fundraising postcards and tabling materials were updated to direct donors to include “INVASIVES” in donation memos.
