Jocelyn delivered a routine staff update covering several active items. She said an RFP is open for bus-shelter artwork in the 84060 area with proposals due May 5, the arts council is providing contracted design services for 'artful pool fencing' at the Newmark to be revealed this summer, and a ribbon cutting for the Creekside Bike Shelter shade structure is planned this spring. "We've received almost 80 applicants for [the Latino Arts Fest]," she added, noting a strong applicant pool.
Jocelyn also reported grant activity: the arts council submitted a wrap grant to support the Hennepper piano project (artist stipends, moving costs, performance activation and maintenance funds) with award results expected in June or possibly July; initial COVID-related funds have been released and the remainder will be released in May to complete grant reporting. The board noted these operational updates and several calendar items, including a June 3 ribbon-cutting for the 'Quilted Together' installation.
