Council hears business concerns and schedules summer events; considers e-scooter ordinance

Council members used the announcements portion of the May 28 meeting to share community updates and business concerns. Councilmember Meagan Guthrie said two businesses had contacted her about the City's ABC fee structure being higher than other cities such as Covington and asked that the council place the fee structure on a future agenda. Guthrie also encouraged residents to complete the Northern Kentucky Area Development District (NKADD) economic development survey.
Councilmember David Ziegler raised safety concerns regarding e-scooters and e-bikes and said he "would like to see an ordinance restricting them," noting Fort Thomas is in the process of passing a similar ordinance. Ziegler announced the first Hot Dogs in the Park will be June 12, 2026. Mayor Thompson announced the River Stage opening concert on June 6, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. featuring Dublin Defense and said there will be food and beer trucks; she also announced Ludlow in Bloom cleanup at Ludlow Memorial Park on May 30, 2026.
