Public Works outlines downtown improvements, speed-hump schedule and plaque installation

Public Works Director Shane Hamant updated the council on several maintenance and streetscape projects during the Oct. 9 meeting. Crews have been repainting the large planters in the downtown area and plan to fill them with fall flowers; new light poles and other streetscape improvements were also discussed in the mayor’s report.
Mr. Hamant said the Albert S. Ludlow plaque restored by Andy Wartman will be installed on the concession building at Ludlow Memorial Park by the end of the month. He also confirmed that speed humps are scheduled for installation on Oak Street on Oct. 20, 2025, and that a flashing stop sign was recently installed on northbound Adela Avenue at Linden Street.
