High school updates: assemblies, CTE planning and Spokane Scholars named

High school staff reported Jan. 27 that finals are complete and second semester is underway, announced a Lancer Pride assembly Jan. 30, new online CTE class planning, Spokane Scholars selections, and district-hosted FFA and Knowledge Bowl events.
Aaron Fletcher, presenting the high school report, told the board that "finals have been completed and we are underway with second semester." He outlined upcoming student and staff events and program planning.
Fletcher said the next Lancer Pride assembly on Jan. 30 will honor character-trait award winners and employee-of-the-quarter recognitions. He reported a CTE Advisory Committee meeting on Jan. 22 and said Mr. Parrish is working to add two new online classes. Fletcher also noted running start forecasting for the 2025–26 academic year and listed Spokane Scholars selections by subject (English: Zoë Omlin; Science: Karly Tiegs; Math: Kyla Schulken; Social Studies: Mitchel Hanegan; Fine Arts: Katy Belles; Foreign Language: London Rice) with the banquet scheduled for April 21.
Fletcher announced Liberty will host the sub-District Region V FFA event Feb. 18 and noted Regional Knowledge Bowl Feb. 21 at East Valley and State Band competition Feb. 14 in Spokane. The board received the report as informational.
