Board approves consent agenda, personnel appointments and surplus vehicles

The Liberty School District Board of Directors approved the consent agenda and several action items during its Aug. 27 meeting.
Board member Chad Denny moved to approve the consent agenda, which included approval of the July 29 minutes; General Fund checks #118120–118185 totaling $531,120.57 plus check #202400078 for $12.13; Capital Projects and ASB fund checks; TVF Fund Check #118189 for $180,405.58; and payroll for August 2025 with checks #118105–118119 totaling $639,327.03. The consent agenda also included voided and reissued checks (including reissues for David Roberts for $175.00, Treyton for $500.00 and Lilac City Behavior Services, LLC for $11,250.00) and listed personnel resignations and appointments. Jeremy Engle seconded the motion and it passed all‑in‑favor.
On action items the board unanimously approved WAC 181‑82‑110 out‑of‑endorsement approvals for seven named certificated staff (Kristin Berry, Aaron Watson, Dan Groom, Ryan Van Tine, Randy Degenhart, Braden Davis and others as listed in the packet). The board also approved surplus declarations for multiple vehicles: a 1978 Chevy 1‑ton flatbed, a 1984 Chevy K2500, a 2010 International 17‑passenger with a wheelchair lift and a 1950–1960s Massey Harris Ferguson tractor (Model T0‑35). Each motion was moved, seconded and passed unanimously.
Personnel actions recorded in the consent agenda included resignations (Khalil Steward, Ron Rogers, Marshall Howard, Kristen Ellis) and appointments (Ron Rogers as HS assistant football coach, Jawuan Nave as JH head football coach, Joe Turner as JH assistant football coach). The board did not request further discussion and the items carried by unanimous vote.
The board then entered an executive session to discuss personnel under RCW 42.30.110(g) and later adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
