Superintendent Jerrad Jeske told the Liberty School District Board of Directors on Aug. 27 that preliminary enrollment numbers appear steady as the district opens the school year.
“A huge thank‑you to our administration and staff for their hard work over the past few weeks preparing for the new school year,” Jeske said, acknowledging site teams and volunteers who supported preparations. He said final enrollment will be confirmed on count day next week, but the district was welcoming several new families.
On facilities, Jeske said the district has scheduled an insurance inspection of a high school wall leak for the week of Sept. 8 and that coverage has not been ruled out. He also reported that a recent wastewater treatment plant inspection produced better‑than‑expected results; with a handful of modifications planned for next summer, the system should last an estimated 15–20 years.
The superintendent credited board member Mark Bullock for overseeing the wastewater inspection work. The board did not take separate action on the facility updates during the meeting.
The district will report final enrollment figures after count day and follow up with any required repairs pending the insurer’s assessment.
