The Hammond Capital Improvement Board approved Funding Allocation No. 314 to contract Hawk Enterprises for Dan Raven Plaza lighting and electrical improvements in the amount of $135,353.32. Chair said the administration urged restoring outdoor lighting and providing fixtures "for the purpose of a downtown open air market at the Dan Raven Plaza that is, planned to commence, on 05/28/2026," and the motion (moved by Councilman Salinas, seconded by Councilman Rakos) passed on roll call with five in favor and no dissent.
The allocation is intended to provide the electrical infrastructure needed for the planned market. Staff will oversee installation and ensure the plaza lighting meets the operational needs for vendors and public use ahead of the May 28 start date.
