The Hammond Common Council unanimously adopted Resolution 26R-04, approving a second amendment to the development agreement among the city, the redevelopment commission and private partners for the project at 100 Digital Crossroads Drive.
The mayor had asked the council to approve a four-month extension while CoreWeave finalizes a power agreement with NIPSCO and completes a lease. "If they're not here by June 30, I'm gonna say goodbye," the mayor said, characterizing this as the third extension request and urging final closure on the project if the company does not complete agreements by that date.
Council members voiced support and recorded their expectation that this will likely be the final extension. The resolution passed by roll call vote, 9–0.
Staff were not directed to appropriate additional city funds at this meeting; instead the action authorizes the amendment and preserves the development timetable with the mayor's stated internal deadline.
