The board then heard the two bids: F E Moran at "$80,824" and Solar Plumbing (listed again as Sawyer Plumbing) at "$68,000." NICE Engineering staff said the police drinking-water supply pumps are "hitting the end of their service life" after about "28 years" and recommended replacing them. Staff asked the board to "refer this to the consultant for review and recommendation," which a committee member moved to do and another seconded. The motion carried with the board saying "aye."
The board’s referral means engineering will evaluate the two bids and return a recommendation; no contract award or funding allocation was made at the March 5 meeting.
