The Weathersfield Parks & Recreation Commission confirmed operational plans for the 6th annual Fishing Derby scheduled for June 13. Julia Gumbart reported that registration is already at about half of the event's limit and that more participants are expected as the date approaches.
Justin Bunnell will handle grilling and social media posts; Olivia Savage will purchase buns, condiments and other supplies and will coordinate port-a-potty ordering with the town office. Ms. Gumbart will schedule a volunteer work-day to prepare poles and clinic materials once the state provides the supplies. Ray Stapleton said he will attend the event but will need to leave early.
