Mayor Sarah Thompson told the council that the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will update pedestrian warning signage and install high-visibility crosshatching in Ludlow crosswalks in the spring and that she has requested a speed limit reduction on Route 8 to 25 MPH pending state approval. She also said the Northern Kentucky Area Development District provided candidates to interview for the city treasurer position, and that Patty Edgley will act as interim accountant/treasurer until a hire is made.
Councilmembers debated whether individual committee meetings should be held during business hours or in the evening. City Administrative Officer Scott Smith advised minutes would need to be taken and that meetings must be open to the public; Mr. Grote offered options for treating committee meetings as special meetings or passing an ordinance setting meeting dates. Council agreed to discuss dates and preferences with department heads and to post committee minutes online when produced.
