County to advertise Adams Acres repaving project; bids set for August

County staff will advertise a standalone bid package to remove deteriorated concrete and repave 0.4 miles in the Adams Acres subdivision; bids will be advertised July 31 and Aug. 7 with opening on Aug. 18 and a goal to finish before year-end.
The board approved a request to advertise bids for the Adams Acres repaving project, which will remove failing concrete pavement and replace it with a new pavement section over approximately 0.4 mile.
Skye Matters explained the subdivision’s original concrete pavement was too broken to be rehabilitated in place and that crews will remove the concrete, reestablish drainage and install a new asphalt pavement section. "Since we are removing concrete starting from scratch, we need to make sure drainage is right and everything," Skye Matters said. Staff proposed advertising on July 31 and Aug. 7, opening bids Aug. 18, and completing the work before the end of the year.
Commissioners approved the advertisement request by motion.
