Board certifies nominations for two uncontested trustee seats

Superintendent Tim Thomas explained at the Oct. 13 meeting that there would be no contested election for school board vacancies because only one candidate filed in each available zone.
The board nominated and certified Kim Zeydel for Trustee Zone 4 and Kari Blocker for Trustee Zone 3. Trustee Laura McGeorge made the motion to nominate and certify the candidates and Trustee Kelly Miller seconded; the board approved the certifications unanimously.
The certifications close the appointment process for the uncontested seats; no further voting is required under district election procedures as described in the meeting minutes.
