Klamath Falls City Schools swears in three new board members and elects new chair

At its July 14 meeting, the Klamath Falls City Schools Board of Education swore in Nicole Trejo, Kelsey Bitzer and Vanessa Bennett and elected Andrew Biggs as board chair and Trina Perez as vice chair for 2025-26.
The Klamath Falls City Schools Board of Education convened July 14 in the LOEC Boardroom and via Zoom to administer oaths of office to three newly elected board members. Board Chair Trina Perez administered the oath to Nicole Trejo, Kelsey Bitzer and Vanessa Bennett; signatures for official records are to be completed following the meeting.
The board then held organizational elections. Andrea Jensen nominated Andrew Biggs for board chair; Kathy Hewitt nominated incumbent Trina Perez. The board voted first on Andrew Biggs; he was elected chair with four votes in favor (Kelsey Bitzer, Andrew Biggs, Andrea Jensen and Nicole Trejo) and three opposed (Vanessa Bennett, Trina Perez and Kathy Hewitt). For vice chair, Trina Perez won election with four votes (Trina Perez, Kathy Hewitt, Vanessa Bennett and Kelsey Bitzer). The meeting record shows the board approved these leadership positions during the July 14 session.
