The Klamath Falls City Schools Board approved a seven-year adoption of EdgEX to replace the district's aging Odysseyware platform at Klamath Learning Center. Director of School Improvement Fred Bartels described Odysseyware as outdated and noted that EdgEX offers modern, interactive content, expanded electives and mechanisms to detect non-authentic or AI-generated student responses.
Bartels said the platform meets Oregon independent adoption requirements and WCAG accessibility standards. The district plans to begin EdgEX with new KLC students on September 2, 2025 and phase out Odysseyware for returning students by the second semester. The motion to adopt EdgEX carried unanimously.
