The Dakota Dunes CID Board unanimously adopted Resolution 2025-02 on April 21, supporting submission of an application for financial assistance by Dakota Dunes Land Holdings, LLC to the South Dakota Housing and Development Authority. The resolution states the CID and developer determined that infrastructure improvements are necessary to enable additional townhome and multifamily units and that financial assistance will be required for the project. The motion to pass the resolution was made by Mr. Wetz and seconded by Mr. Shorma; the measure passed 5-0.
The resolution notes the CID will work with the developer’s engineer to ensure infrastructure plans meet the CID’s requirements for drinking water, treatment capacity and storm sewer, and that the CID has adequate treatment facilities and water supply to accommodate the proposed development. The minutes also reference the 2022 North Sioux City Housing Study as identifying a need for additional single-family and multifamily housing options in the moderate to market price range; the resolution states the proposed development will help address, but not resolve, the local housing shortage.
Board officials were authorized to deliver documents necessary to assist with the SDHDA application. The resolution text recorded in the minutes names Andrew Tramp as District Manager and Katelyn Irby as District Secretary as part of the administrative record.
