Hardin County EMS reports 1,417 dispatches in June; annual revenue up to $8.1 million

Mark Peterson presented the Hardin County EMS activity report for June and the fiscal-year summary during the July 28 meeting. He said the EMS system recorded 1,417 total dispatches in June, of which 1,404 were 9-1-1 calls, 13 were transfers and 129 were non-billable runs. Peterson reported June collections of $738,932, an increase of nearly $100,000 from the year prior.
"We finished the year at 8,100,000, which is up about 1,300,000 from the year before," Peterson said, summarizing annual revenue and noting a roughly 38% increase in EMS revenue over five years. He also provided station-level response breakdowns (Etown’s units busiest) and a chief-complaints distribution that included cardiac, respiratory, trauma and mental-health calls.
Peterson opened the floor for questions but no additional discussion followed. The information was presented to give the court context for several budget items later in the meeting, including the ordinance amendment that allocates funds for new cardiac monitors.
