The Jerome City Council voted unanimously to adopt Resolution No. 07-26, amending prior pay-range tables and applying a 3% shift to the salary and hourly pay tables. Human Services Director Esmeralda Chavez told council the tables were originally established in 2015 and have been shifted several times; the resolution cites prior shifts of 5% (Feb. 1, 2021), 3% (Oct. 1, 2022), 5% (Oct. 1, 2023) and 5% (Oct. 1, 2024). Chavez said presenting the table shift now "will assist with the budgeting process."
City Administrator Mike Williams emphasized the current shift is not a market-based adjustment and said a future market study could prompt additional changes. The clerk read the resolution text, which sets the effective date: "This Resolution shall be effective on October 1, 2026." Councilman Bryan Craig moved adoption; Councilwoman Jeri Ahrens seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (AYES: Ahrens, Craig, Ross, Peterson).
