IMP ribbon cutting set; Main and Lincoln construction to start in July

City Administrator Mike Williams told the Urban Renewal Agency that a ribbon cutting for the Idaho Milk Products (IMP) ice cream plant is tentatively scheduled for May 28 and that representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture are expected to attend.
Williams also reported the City approved the bid for the Main and Lincoln project; staff and contractor Idaho Materials & Construction are coordinating a construction schedule with a preliminary start date of July 6 and anticipated completion in early 2027. Williams said sidewalk work at a nearby new development may be delayed until the private developer is ready, and that two lanes of Main Street will be affected during construction so an alternate parade route for the fair may be required. He noted the College of Southern Idaho will set the Leroy Craig Center ribbon date and said community response to Founder's Park — including the soccer field and food‑truck area — has been positive. City Engineer Tyson Carpenter confirmed the traffic control plans reflect the construction staging referenced.
