City of Commerce schedules rezoning, annexation hearing June 2; board to monitor

District staff told the board that the City of Commerce scheduled a public hearing on the rezoning and annexation for June 2 at the Clubhouse at 6:00 p.m. “I think the city will hold a hearing on the rezoning and the annexation on the 2nd at Clubhouse at 06:00,” the staff member said during the presentation of the development plan.
Staff confirmed the city has posted notice for the hearing, and the Chair and staff discussed quorum rules for board members who may attend. The Chair noted that because notice was posted, more than three board members may attend the public hearing "because they posted notice of what the agenda item is," and cautioned members about seating arrangements to avoid creating an unannounced board meeting. The board said it expects to know the city's decision by its next regular meeting on June 8.
