APC approves New Carlisle ordinance amendments (APC 3090-26) adopting a few map and use changes

The Area Planning Commission reviewed an amendment the Town of New Carlisle adopted to its Uniform Development Ordinance and voted on July 21 to approve those amendments as adopted by the town council (APC 3090-26).
Director Sean Klein summarized the changes: four parcels previously shown as moderate-density residential were relabeled town-residential on the zoning map; the redundant definition for “small apartment” was removed; townhouse was added as a permitted building type in a mixed-use district and “dwelling unit upper level” was added as a permitted use in the town-center district. Klein told the commission the changes were minimal and had been considered at a public hearing by the town council.
A town representative confirmed the amendments were heard in a public meeting and reported no unresolved comments. The commission approved the amendment on roll call.
