Clerk staff reported one petition filed so far this year on a denial of exemption and said TRIM notices are scheduled to mail in mid-August; hearings are scheduled beginning mid-October through the first week of February to accommodate demand.
Members reviewed historic packet figures (noting 89 granted out of 398 petitions in 2024) and discussed withdrawal and settlement categories; counsel and staff said they will provide a one-page summary in future packets and will monitor homestead versus non-homesteaded filing patterns to inform public education and scheduling.
