OSTAC approves February minutes; staff report on Ridgeview restoration, raptor nest and volunteer training

The committee unanimously approved the Feb. 22, 2026 minutes; staff provided project updates including split-rail fencing at Ridgeview Restoration, an artificial raptor nest installation, fishing derby preparation, Coyote Crew volunteer training, and planned attendance at the Anthem Water Tanks neighborhood meeting on June 4.
At the April 23 OSTAC meeting committee member Doug Errett moved and Joel Niles seconded approval of the Feb. 22, 2026 meeting minutes; the motion passed unanimously.
Staff updates covered multiple program items. Open Space and Trails Manager Bob Woods confirmed Ridgeview Restoration work will include a wire-and-post fence at the top and bottom of the hill to deter social trails. Technician Brian Genge described a raptor nest installation as part of habitat improvements. Specialist Chloe Chalekian outlined fishing derby pole preparation and volunteer training for the "Coyote Crew." Administrative Analyst Mikayla Nelson previewed the spring speaker series and listed upcoming events. Kristan Pritz announced selection of the OSTAC chair will occur at the June meeting and that there will be no May meeting.
Staff also announced a neighborhood meeting for the Anthem Water Tanks project on June 4 (4:30–5:30 p.m.); OSTAC members Doug Errett, Tina Thomas and Joel Niles volunteered to attend.
