Highway foreman reports equipment repairs, MRGP stormwater work to begin July 14

Highway Foreman Mike Spackman told the Selectboard the department needs a new rim and tire for the tractor (to be sourced from Pete’s Tire Barn), the one-ton truck requires a windshield replacement, and a piston on the 2026 Western Star 10-wheeler will be replaced under warranty. As a result, roadside mowing will be delayed until the tractor is repaired.
Spackman said the Highway Department will start Municipal Roads General Permit (MRGP) stormwater work on Coon Club Road on July 14; the project will reduce traffic to one lane during work hours for several days and is intended to enhance stormwater management along affected road segments. He also reported the department is currently out of calcium chloride and will apply it to unpaved roads when the next delivery arrives. Spackman will be on vacation beginning July 15 for most of the following two weeks.
