Highway Foreman Mike Spackman announced he intends to retire in October 2027, at which point he will have served roughly 44 years with the West Windsor Highway Department. The Selectboard said it will consider a succession plan at a future meeting.
Spackman also reported on ongoing public-works projects: the Better Roads project on Silver Hill Road (tree removal, bank shaving, a new culvert and stone-lined ditches) that will likely require daytime road closures between Brownsville‑Hartland Road and Cowshed Trail; ongoing culvert replacements and roadside ditching; and the new 10‑wheeler now in service following the Vermont Municipal Equipment Show. He promoted the department’s upcoming Touch‑a‑Truck event at Albert Bridge School on May 21.
