The Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission on March 18 voted unanimously to continue Z‑7851, a developer’s request to rezone multiple properties between East 11th Street South and East 21st Street South from AG to IL, to its April 1 meeting. Commissioner Bulmash made the motion to continue and Commissioner Cue seconded; the motion carried 10–0.
Applicant Lou Reynolds said he requested the continuance “to allow more time to assemble the necessary data and mapping to support their case and respond to the staff recommendation of denial, because he has office staff out for spring break.” Several nearby residents objected to delaying the hearing, telling the commission the proposal has been on the table since 2024, that the new plan is larger than the previous submittal, and that returning for another meeting would be inconvenient. Adam Leavitt, a neighboring property owner, told the commission he was awaiting additional details because the developers were considering an offer on his adjoining property.
The minute record lists more than a dozen residents who opposed the continuance and asked the commission to hear the case the same day. Commissioners discussed the request briefly; Commissioner Bulmash said he supported the continuance so the applicant could address community concerns. The continuance preserves the formal deadlines for the related comprehensive plan amendment (CPA‑128), which the commission also continued to April 1.
