Hancock County approves nearly $1.5M in airport grants and awards pavement, equipment contracts

County staff presented several airport-related grant offers and procurement actions and the commissioners approved each motion during their July 7 meeting.
The board approved Grant offer BHB 3-23-0006-065-2026 to acquire snow removal equipment in the amount of $849,884.00 and authorized the chair to sign on behalf of Hancock County. The board also approved a Notice to Award the bid to M-B Companies for acquisition of snow removal equipment contingent on completion of that grant offer. Separately, commissioners approved Grant offer BHB 3-23-0006-066-2026 (Easement Acquisition) in the amount of $639,350.00 and authorized the chair to sign. The county also approved awarding the Airport-Wide Pavement Maintenance & Markings project (BHB 3-23-0006-068-2026) to Axtell’s Pavement Solutions LLC of Scott Township, PA.
All airport-related motions carried 3-0 (Clark/DiBella), and the minutes show the board authorized the chair to sign documents on behalf of the county where required. Staff indicated that procurement notices and grant paperwork will follow normal grant-acceptance and contracting procedures.
