Noah Peterson (LSO) said the ISP requested $12.6 million from the fund to support the proposed commission pay plan, which would shift temporary certification-based increases into a portion of base pay and provide payments to commissioned officers after every five positive performance evaluations. Senator Wintrow asked whether the fee increase would raise the actual registration fee — Peterson confirmed the $3 fee would increase to $12, meaning motorists would pay an additional $9 per vehicle registration if enacted.
