Comprehensive Plan workshop advances; planners aim to halve document to about 70 pages

Mayor Rodenroth opened a required Comprehensive Plan workshop and City Manager James Booth explained the session satisfies a State of Florida grant requirement to gather Council and public feedback on draft plan changes. Planning & Zoning Board Chair Dr. John Zieser told the council the draft will be cut to about 70 pages — roughly half the size of the 2011 plan — and thanked Janis Fleet for assistance with the work.
Booth clarified that the version on the city website and the agenda is the current draft approved for submission to the state for the grant requirement and that some portions — including Clay County Utility Authority updates — will be added later. No members of the public offered comments during the workshop.
