Owner wins support to rezone a Tulsa County lot to allow backyard agriculture

The commission recommended approval of CZ-584 to rezone a parcel at 822 E. 64th St. N. from RS-3 to AG after staff concluded the request was consistent with the County Comprehensive Plan for Rural Residential/Agricultural uses.
Applicant Leo Bray Sr. told the commission he had talked with neighbors and intended to raise chickens, keep a horse and establish a garden. Paul Montgomery, an adjacent property owner, spoke in favor. Commissioners Turner-Addison and Hood said they supported the request, and the motion to recommend approval carried 9-0.
Staff noted that the combined lot will exceed the minimum AG lot size and that future uses will be subject to County development and subdivision regulations.
