Westford Historical Society outlines scaled Fourth of July activities for 250th celebration

Caroline Brown of the Westford Historical Society told the Selectboard that this year’s 250th anniversary activities will be smaller than in previous years but will include several focused events. On July 4th the society plans a wreath‑laying at three soldiers’ graves where genealogical research has been done, a fife‑and‑drum performance at 2:30 p.m., and a musket powder demonstration that uses only powder and no projectiles; the historical building will be open with Revolution‑era displays.
The Historical Society also plans a Sunday 2 p.m. lecture on Vermont’s role in the American Revolution by the town’s 250th anniversary commissioner. The society is still seeking reenactors; organizers asked the board to publicize events and coordinate logistics on the Common.
