The Selectboard voted in executive session to accept the nominating committee’s recommendations of two applicants for the town treasurer position and to direct staff to arrange second interviews. Pat Haller moved the motion; Casey Mathieu seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 4-0.
The nominating committee reported it had received 14 applications for the combined Treasurer/Delinquent Tax Collector roles and identified nine candidates as qualified; four of those were interviewed this week. Committee members told the Selectboard that five applicants withdrew, including one who said they were uncomfortable being recorded during Selectboard meetings. The committee advised filling the treasurer position first and will return with further recommendations for the DTC position.
