The Selectboard reviewed the universal planning work plan (UPWP) support that was approved for Westford and agreed on initial steps for planning the town’s 1705 property. Chair Pat Haller and CCRPC representative Ben Bornstein said CCRPC will appoint a senior staffer to work with the town; members advised compiling historical surveys and relevant documents before public outreach begins.
Board members and Planning Commission advocates discussed sequencing: gather existing records, secure a part‑time town planner or CCRPC staff person, then convene joint meetings with the Planning Commission to develop options and public engagement strategies. Max Tyler and Ben Bornstein also said the town should consider applying for a municipal planning grant focused on the town plan update, while 1705 work would proceed through UPWP-supported technical assistance.
