Jackson County commissioners discussed an update to the Fiscal Accountability Policy during the June 22 work session to add the Assistant Administrator as the backup approver for purchase orders when the County Administrator is unavailable.
County Attorney John Porter said he will revise the policy language to reflect that sequence — Administrator, then Assistant Administrator, and if both are unavailable the Chairman — and return the revised policy as new business at the next commission meeting. Commissioners agreed the change will provide continuity for purchase-order approvals.
No formal vote to adopt the policy change was taken in work session; the item will return to the commission for formal consideration after the County Attorney submits revised language.
