Solid Waste Director Caleb Skipper told commissioners during the June 22 work session that three quotes had been obtained to replace three old utility trailers and that he recommended purchasing two new Tri-Green trailers at a total cost of $8,400.
Skipper presented the three vendor prices: Tractor Supply — $4,999; Tri-Green — $4,200; and Scottsboro Pit Stop — $3,796.20. He recommended Tri-Green for construction quality and requested authorization to purchase two trailers, to be funded from the Solid Waste cash balance.
The commission did not vote on the purchase during the work session; staff added the item to new business for the next formal meeting so commissioners can review funding and approve the purchase if appropriate.
