The Planning & Zoning Commission approved a special-exception-style request from Tractor Supply to allow a paved outdoor display area for utility trailers adjacent to the store’s western parking edge in the Suncoast Landings commercial pad.
Planner Cindy Tarapani said the site provides the required 87 parking spaces excluding the display area and the proposed paved trailer-display area would add 15 spaces dedicated to trailers so customers can load and drive off. Photographs of comparable stores and a landscaped buffer along the Suncoast Parkway were shown to commissioners.
Tarapani described the display as limited to utility trailers and box-trailer models—not agricultural tractors or heavy construction equipment. She said the area would be fenced and screened to meet the site’s roadside buffer. Commissioners accepted staff’s recommendation and approved the display area with required landscaping and site controls.
What’s next: Tractor Supply will complete permitting and construction of the store and the fenced trailer display. County engineering confirmed no additional FDOT setbacks were required because access is via a frontage road.
