The Hampton Township Committee authorized the Township Engineer to file a New Jersey Department of Transportation Municipal Aid grant application for the Plotts Road Section II Resurfacing Project (MA-2027-Plotts Rd. - Sec. II Improvements-00371) and approved executing grant documents if funding is awarded.
Separately the Committee accepted an offer from Elizabethtown Gas Company to pay $181,344.25 in lieu of restoring disturbed areas of Plotts Road following a gas-line installation. The resolution conditions acceptance on receipt of payment within 30 days; upon receipt the Township will release the posted $30,000 performance bond and consider the funds toward resurfacing. The Committee cited the Township Engineer's and DPW Supervisor's recommendation in support of accepting the payment.
Committee members also adopted a companion resolution dedicating the $181,344.25 to Plotts Road resurfacing. The engineer is authorized to submit the Municipal Aid application and the Mayor and Municipal Clerk were authorized to sign certifications and, if awarded, the grant agreement.
