Myers tells Selectboard driver turnover behind inconsistent Westford trash pickups

At the July 23 meeting Joe Sinagra of Myers addressed multiple resident complaints about inconsistent trash collection times and explained the disruption stems from a change in drivers.
Sinagra said the route was historically run by a single experienced driver who had learned the Westford pattern; after that driver left Myers trained two new drivers and temporarily ran the route with separate trucks for trash and recycling while training finishes. “One of the changes is that in the past it was done with one truck,” Sinagra said, explaining the operational shift as staff acclimate to the route.
Selectboard Chair Pat Haller thanked Myers for responsiveness and asked the company to give the town advance notice if drivers change in the future so staff can communicate with residents. The board and Myers discussed the possibility of sending reminders when route changes or service impacts are expected, but no formal policy change was made at the meeting.
